He shouldn't have been there, but he was! The biggest orange and black butterfly I had ever seen. He was fluttering around the block-long Bresee Park near Vermont and Second Street in the Wilshire District of Los Angeles. I guessed he was part of a North America to South America migration of Monarch/Viceroy type butterflies. On a nature TV program I had heard that these guys were really big!
