A DISPUTE OVER FURNISHINGS, ONE I DID NOT WIN, ALAS.............

Monster Chairs In the pallor where I seldom go there are two ominous shapes, At first glance they seem simple chairs, and nothing more, But if one to look closer, one will detect the leopard pattern and fringe, What this you say, why these are classic indicators of carnivorous chairus, Vicious blood sucking rabbit dog running concoctions are they, They shyly invite you to sit down in comfort, and before you know your maximus is toast, Then you will continue to fall in as it devours you,... EVER WONDER HOW IT WOULD FEEL TO HOLD A SWORD REAL....

C oldest S teel T here is a place in hyperspace among the sites and nodes of the Great Web, I t doesn’t sell clothes or candy, toys, playthings, or fake this and that. I t is the armory of the imagination, imagination that knows no bounds, I magination that wonders what it was like to be a Roman legionnaire with sweat dripping off his helm. A n imagination that craves to know the feel of weaponcraft and armor as real any that ever existed, F or this site can be imagination’s portal to eras gone... Sign in to see full entry.

WITHIN EACH OF US THERE IS AN ENDLESS SOURCE OF WONDERMENT.....

DREAMS When we were small, our dreams were large, They knew no limit, to horizon and beyond. Of ocean seas, and spanning the globe, Pirates, damsels, castles, and much more. Star Trek was real; just beam me up Scotty, The world was bright and new, would be ours. Now we are not so small, our dreams shrunken, A new job, a new house, how to pay for college. The world so bright, now dimly lit and gritty, We trip over unseen obstacles, the daily grind. Somehow though, the magic has disappeared not, A... Sign in to see full entry.

DEATH WITHOUT REASON OR SEASON, THE NEW VANDALS....

FLASH BANG At a light in the middle of the night, Two cars stop, occupants wary, Gang bangers are they, evil incarnate, Murders all, a profession, not a hobby, Carnage and death, trail their passing. One is not where it should be, trouble, Turf violated, all high, death head smiles, Nine pairs of eye lock, glare for glare, Weapons cocked and locked, at ready, No one wants to make first move. Neither do they want to make the last, Tension like high voltage taunts the air, Then it happens, a... Sign in to see full entry.

WHAT DANGERS AND STRANGE CREATURES LURK WITHIN THE ......

OFFICE Ever wander into an office by accident, No matter what the enterprise engaged, Similarities there are in each and everyone. A receptionist, not too bright, cute and tart, How she stays, hard to say can’t type or file, Perhaps she is banging the boss, even more. Then there is the office manager serious, Veteran warrioress, a touch or two of grey, An expert at making things run, real boss she. Worker bees zoom in and out, productive or not, Of many kinds and stripes, one is never sure,... Sign in to see full entry.

VOYAGES WORK TWO WAYS, EXPLORERS, OR EXPLOREES, HMMMM?

FIRST CONTACT If Drake’s Equation is to believed, Sooner, than later, meet we shall, Life different from our own, Of another mother planet, perhaps even sun, It may be simple one cell organism, Then again something old and complex, Something that would put us in our place, Both shall happen eventually, somewhere, Ready not shall we be, naïve and arrogant, Shall we really botch it up, or perhaps be lunch, Most likely something in between, salvage maybe, Live long and prosper sounds so much than... NOW A TALE OF ANCIENT FUTURE, YET TO PASS..............

SEEKER H ear now this tale of the ancients, so frail and brittle with age that it comes from the time of the single world, Wisps of legends speak of the Seeker who out of solitude doth trod a journey of the mind that hath lasted till this day, This is so even as the dust that was Seeker is gone forever and the paths this one traveled seem but illusions, Lost is the name of this one to our ears, not the words vibrant through the centuries, of a quest as a work of life, impressed upon the soul of... ALMOST BAD DAY ON THE WAY TO ATLANTA..............

MISADVENTURE Now misadventure comes in all shades and sizes, Of ship wrecks and dragons, battles and conquests, This day I will not speak not of such wonders, No, of else will I traverse, something out of everywhen, For yesterday, I happen to witness one I shared, On I-20 at 80 plus miles and hour, something broke, Probable metal fatigue, I doubt sabotage, The rear axle set of an 18 wheeler departed, Sliding out from under and bouncing and flipping, Free of it yoke, its energy to expend in... IN THE NAVY, YOU SAIL THE SEVEN SEAS, IN THE NAVY............

THE BRIDGE Now a ship’s bridge is a high and mighty place, Or at least it use to be, before the Combat Information Center, No wind in the hair, no spray in the eyes, dawns and gulls forgotten, No sprawled in the high chair with mug of coffee and a cigar, The bridge these days, normally ratings and a JG, pride of place, Your modern naval commander, deep in the ship’s belly is he, In the modern world of three dimensional play, zooming fast, All must be watched, all be guarded, to keep death at... WORDS AS ART, ART AS WORDS, THE MUSE WANDERS.....

Now Then When is now then, and then now, Not a silly question if you stop to ponder, What is now, for is there ever truly a present, By the time you conceptualized, time has wiz by, So then everything you were thinking or doing is long past, What it makes it all so very confusing, or perhaps fusing all, So if it is as something not yet occurred, then it is a then, So if now enviably is actually the past or future, Then you must ask future or past tense or both, FuturePast, now there is a concept...
