MARVELOUS FALL, THE GENTLE DYING BEFORE THE GREAT DEATH ....

LEAF On the ground, under my eyes, Lies a leaf, dead and brown, One among Trillions fallen down, Its days in the sun, all but done, From the tree, ever so high, Fallen it has, now awaits fate, To return to the Earth’s richness, From which host it was sprung, To nurture again, all things of life, Bud to forest mask, time not long, Takes but a season, but there is reason, For this is the way, Nature renews herself, Day by day, year by year, ever always, So cry not for the leaf, its time it has...
