POT Upon a shelf, Dusty and forlorn, Sits a piece of pottery, A simple pot, Nothing more, Nothing less, Darkish brown, Fired, imprinted spirals, The museum home, Came by accident, No providence, Unwanted inheritance, Donated for tax write off, Out of context and time, Nothing really special, Save this pot is old, Ten thousand years old, Perhaps even more, Created when man on edge, Ice age still retreating, Hunter gathering most, Before kings and wars, Writing, and many other things, Mankind,...
