THIS OLD HOUSE It was an old house, Once far grander, Still had charm left, Advertised as fixer upper, Two centuries of people life, Births, fights, marriages, deaths, This and so much more, All within these four walls, Heart of pine floors, Stone exterior, oak paneling, Plumbing and kitchen ancient, Nice conservatory, porch too, Still strong, tight and plumb, The winter gales shook not, Yet the house was lonely, All too long had she been empty, When ever prospects came by, She silenced her...
