DRIFTING WOOD & ROSE

Upon an aquamarine sea, a strange sight I did see, Drifting among the crests was a piece of drift wood, Now that in itself is not strange, but a rose upon was, A beautiful scarlet bloom with stem and leaves of green, Perched on a knot of a forest cast off many miles to sea, Surely adrift for many months from the look of it, Yet, the rose as fresh and bright as if still garden nestled, Even its perfume did arise to entice my nose from afar, How it came to rest, a mystery without a clue, There it...
