Dusting of some memories

Yesterday I was going through some dusty old boxes, full of old birthday and Christmas cards. Just then, I found a lovely litte poem I thought to be lost. It was written by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. And the name of the poem 'How do I love thee?' I am sure some of you might just know it. Let me... Sign in to see full entry.

Into the dragon's lair (Chapter 1) :

The sun was setting over the African savanah. Night was drawing a crimson cloth across the silouhettes of trees and nocturnal animals, coming out to feed and to hunt... From the modern thathed hut in the game farm camp Delilah is sitting in the most comfortable armchair. She is sipping on a cup of... Sign in to see full entry.

Pumpkins and pies

Pumpkin is normally a vegetable we would associate with Haloween. Pumpkin lanterns, pumpkin pies - and - a range of pumpkin related products. But why should a pumpkin stick to Haloween! Personally I love pumpkin all through the year. It does not matter which season, I always have a pumpkin somewhere... Sign in to see full entry.

Why do cats chase their own tails?

Originally I thought that it was only K-9's that chased their own tails... It seems I was wrong! I have recently decided to obtain a feline member of the family again, after two years of not having a cat (my other cats were poisoned by some unfortunate soul). Today I was watching this little kitten... Sign in to see full entry.

Three o'clock in the morning

What is so interesting about three o'clock in the morning? Well for the few of us in this world that gets the sweet tooth at three o'clock in the morning, always at three o'clock or a few minutes thereafter, the need to have a piece of chocolate cake in the fridge is essencial. I suppose you can... Sign in to see full entry.

Back home

I returned home yesterday, from a very enjoyable weekend. As you can imagine, the feline sibling in the family was completely overjoyed at my return. She has accepted me as her 'mommy', so nobody else will do. Not my husband and not my son. Sometimes she will sit with my son, but not for long. She... Sign in to see full entry.

My little family is visiting with family for the weekend, and unavoidably the animals had to stay home... cat included. The dogs stay outside, and the cat inside. Cat-pcycology

Yes, you heard right... cat-pcycology! I have recently aquired a new member to my household. A month old female kitten. Now you would say, what on earth does a month old kitten know about pcycology. More or less... nothing! That is untill I came along with my new theories on raising cats from... Sign in to see full entry.

We will always have Riga

My neice living in London, UK, recently (about a week ago), got divorced from her Russian husband. Things have been going downhill for some time already. Two years into the maraige it seems to be 'kaput'. When thinking of it, I never could see a Russian/South Afican maraige as something that would... Sign in to see full entry.
