Art as the Circle of Life
First we had "simple" appreciation of what was directly present: "Primitive" Realism. Then we had yearnings and dreams about the future: "Ancient" Dreamtime. Then came stories of origin and a longing to go back: Romantic dreams. Then we tried to make it all good until we had only a blank canvas: Modernism.
