Good evening
I have issues with perfectionism. Mine stems from stepdad #3 berating me constantly when it came to cleaning the house and keeping the edging around the yard free of weeds. Once I got into my own home, I continued on with the "perfect" house. It truly is a sign of insecurity and not wanting to be judged. I have started slacking off a bit as I've gotten older, but it is never far from my mind when the dishes or the laundry piles up that somebody might notice.

Perfectionism like that is a kind of insecurity and can become a mental illness. Maybe that teacher knew the hemming of the skirt was beyond your capabilities at the time, and hence the B.
