Everything is so darned expensive now we tend to make do with anything cheaper that offers a solution, however partial. I would do the same thing as you did. Wiskey keeps us going, you say? I'll have to try that.😉

Before I had cataract surgery my eyes were very bad, near sited.  Once I had cataract surgery I could see far away great but now depending on the print size I need reading glasses!

I think anytime we can save money it is a good thing.  I have no trouble seeing close but I can't see far away so I have to wear glasses. I love reading.  I hope you have a very good day.

My cataracts have reached a stage where I don't need any glasses except for small print at a distance. Since I stopped driving that is OK. Not getting them fixed unless I go blind.

It seems to me the companies that sell prescription glasses

charge about 3 times what they're worth. I went two months ago to see about getting prescription sunglasses. The glare can be blinding. The snip of a girl at the reception desk told me it had been too long, I had to pay for a new exam and update the prescription. The day of my appointment my street was blocked off and I couldn't get there. I phoned. And then decided to just pop a pair of off-the-shelf sunglasses over my regular specs, and make do. I'll spend the money on yarn and make a few more hats to donate to the cancer center.

Good afternoon

I buy the cheap dollar store readers. So far, so good. I only need glasses for reading, so there is no need to see an optometrist.
