I tried to buy myself an Akubra when I was in Australia a few trips ago. Too expensive for me and they were new ones.

Mom used to look great in hats - she had one that looked like
one that might have been worn by Greta Garbo. It was something she hung onto from the 1920s. Amazing how a hat can help a kid get into character to act out different personas.

What about the head scarf? Women used to wear those a lot/. I suppose they did not lift off
when when riding a bicycle. It is hard to imagine now how fleets of cyclists filled the streets
at lunch time.
