The past two years I dog sitted so I didn't get to enjoy the fireworks but rather endure them because of the dogs' reactions. The older one would be shaking all over and howling. Poor things.

I do like to go to a fireworks show but not so keen on the pops and bangs of suburbia.

My poor doggie always trembled with fear as the month of June
rolled on and the fireworks started. Not just one doggie, but every fur baby I ever had. Someone threw a firecracker that went off just behind me when I was on my way home one evening. Gave me a bit of PTSD - Sudden loud noises still make me jump and set my heart racing. Love the bright aerial fireworks, hate the booms.

Fireworks are often shot off in my neighborhood, holiday or no holiday. I'm not keen on them because of the noise.
