CCT is correct. We didn't expect too much back when. a little bag of candy was always the treat for the week for Sis and myself. bought on friday we could make them last all through the weekend. farm kids had lots of distractions so I was never bored.

I guess as we age we can remember past events better than we once could.

At least you were making the best of life hard as it was. Perhaps we did not expect

too much as long as one's head was above water. I remember I was nearly sent to

Korea, I don't think it was the best place to be.

You are talking my times now.  Would you believe that the first time I had pizza that I didn't like it.  On the other hand the first time I had French fried onion rings at a little Mom & Pop cafe, I fell in love with them.   We had a Velvet Freeze that I adored and a wonderful little bakery on the way home from school.  Oh yes, the next time I had pizza I fell in love with it too.

Good Morning

Pat, I loved these memories except for the iron lung.  That was a scary time for everyone.  I remember my mother took me one Sunday afternoon to get a sugar cube.  There were many people in line.  I didn't understand it but I did what she said.

Good morning

These are some really cool memories of the experiences that you lived. I remember the Big Hunk candy bar, and today is the perfect day for pizza which we always enjoy on "Pizza Friday." Of course, I could eat pizza five days a week, but I try to refrain from doing that due to the calorie intake, and I am no fan of a cauliflower-crusted pizza. Enjoy your slice of pie, and have a wonderful day.
