Good Morning
I believe that over the years families have learned to cut costs and make nutritious meals for their families. I have to say some of my best recipes come from cutting corners when things were tight. My famous Strawberry Bomb cake came about because Cassata cake was too much money. Fast forward many years and my family would choose the Strawberry Bomb cake over the Cassata cake any day. Sherri has had my cake and she loves it.

I used to look at the Ration coupons in the draw and wonder why. We lived on a farm how could we need rationing. Well as i grew i leared we had to support the troops and the starving folks in dear old England.

How our mothers managed in those tough times to keep us young ones
the least bit carefree is a mind-boggling thing to think about. Rationing was even more strict in England, but we had it here, too. All kinds of things we take for granted nowadays were unavailable or could only be found if one was at the store when a shipment came in. I hope our kids and grandkids never have to see things get that dire again - and sometimes remember to think of that time as an academy where we learned survival skills. Good afternoon
I have yet to order my groceries online. I rather choose my own fresh vegetables and other favorite grocery items than trust someone who really doesn't know what I would want in the event that my first option was unavailable.
