They are fascinating.  I don't think we have any in Missouri.  Even when we traveled and camped in the Ozark Forests I've never heard wolves.

My great pleasure of living in Canada was in the dark hours of the morning; around 3.am to wake and hear the Wolves howling was one of my greatest joys and I do miss it.

When I lived in the Cascade foothills, not even 2 miles from

state-owned open rangeland, I heard the chorus of the wolfpack - sometimes not too distant. Especially during the week of the full moon, the eerie voices in the distance were enough to keep me near the house.
