We used to eat winkles at the fairs, I don't think I would like them now.
I am glad that you started writing again, it is good to use the imagination. I expect

I tried a mussel once. I didn't like it. I tried escargo once and I didn't like that. I tried octopus salad once and I wasn't fond of that.....but I do really like oysters.

I love all types of seafood altho. I would much rather eat from the sea than the river. Catfish are one of my least likes.

I don't care much for seafood - I remember when I really enjoyed it,
including mussels fried in batter, broiled salmon steaks, clam chowder... Also can't make myself eat an egg these days, even though I know they're so nutritious. I know the appetite for both will come back, but right now I'm finding big salads just the ticket to enjoyment...
