Re: I make no apologies for being a Royalist and an Anglophile
The UK gets in a mess yes but as far as Empire is concerned, they definitely treated most of the Colonies better than some other countries I won't name. The West Minster System is bad Democracy barely works as Churchill pointed out; But I would rather have our freedom than the so called freedoms of other places.

Yes, we were laughing how glum some of them looked. Bad behaviour sticks in the gullet. Poor King Charles he has waited nearly all his life for this. A lot of accidents happen before one can nobble it. Cheers.

Good morning
I watched it for a little bit while I could. The people do not appear to be overly happy with the Royals at this time. I have a feeling that big changes are in their future.

I'm not comfortable with pomp and circumstance, but clearly the
folks in London were prepared to wait out the rain for as long as it took. I hope Charles III's reign is peaceful and that he proves to be wise and kind. As for the new queen, she also deserves a chance to prove herself - perhaps by supporting some worthy cause with heart and generosity.

Re: Good Evening yes darling they are very heavy and Charles wore two Crown
the nearly 1000 year old one [from 1066} is solid gold and just too heavy so when they disappeared for a few minutes at nearly the end, he swapped it for a lighter crown. Camilla had to wear the same one which seemed too big for her. I don't think there is anything comfy about wearing a Crown. Symbolic of the tough job ahead!

I did get up at the crack of dawn to watch it because I could not sleep anyway. I couldn't get over the difference in age from him and his young mother when I watched Queen Elizabeth Coronation (in those days we went to a movie theater to see it on film after the fact). I hope that your King Charles has a lengthy and peaceful reign.

Good Evening
Kabu, I watched the Coronation in replay and the one thing that makes me wonder is the fact that when the King and Queen received their crowns I couldn't help but feel they were heavy. I wonder if they actually were or it just seemed like it?
