Re: mneme
Good to hear from you again. I hope you are keeping in good health and don't have to seek out medical care often. Take care of yourself, and hang around Blogit.

We have a group practice and a (supposedl) designated doctor. In practice - when you can get an actual appointment nowadays, since Covid - you see whichever doctor you can. The last one I saw was a GP Registrar, fully qualified and newly registered - she was excellent.
Repeat prescriptions I order myself online, and take a blood pressure reading myself once a year for one of them. I think we’re being steered away from bothering the doctors with minor ailments. I don’t do that, but some people obviously do. We’ having to accept telephone consultations more and more, too.

It's never easy when that happens.

It's not easy. Have you checked with any of your local friends to see if they know or recommend any of them?

Some GP's seem to go on forever, back in the day when i was a kid, the physician would drive out to the farm and visit if one or more of us was really sick...sigh. usually me. I was a sickly little kid.

Good morning
I am not good with change, so I am not a fan of starting over with new doctors, but we had to as well after our doctor retired, and then we moved to a different county. With so many different procedures, it is not abnormal to have several doctors in this day and age, but I still go through my PCP for prescription refills. We have an online MyChart to which all of our doctors confer with each other. It also reminds us when our yearly tests are due. With that being said, I am learning to deal with this new way of practicing medical issues.

My family practice doctor is only about 40 or so. My patient record is
on a hand-held computer he carries around with him. It transmits prescriptions to the pharmacy, he posts his observations to my record, records his orders... It would be nice to outlive him - if he lives to a ripe old age - as long as I could be up and doing for myself. Looking forward to your next installment...

I'm curious to see where this goes. My physician retired in the summer of 2020. He was 83 at the time and then went to learn a new computer system.
