I prefer snow too, Glodiec. I prefer it to rain or to any heat. I love the

winter scenes it creates, the coziness inspired by it, the children's delight in their first snowman, sleigh rides, hot chocolate... the list goes on. Oh - and did I mention hockey? Cooking and snow and family - all good!!!

Re:

Sherri, I think loaded potato soup sounds so good.  It will definitely keep you warm on a chilly day.  I love oyster crackers too.  I'm going to get some the next time I go to the store.

Re: Good morning

Sherri, thanks for the kind words.  I'm glad your son-in-law's parents have taken his advice and they are coming home.  I've never been in a hurricane and I'm sure I don't want to be in one.

Re:

FSI, I think it's true.  The substitute teachers have a lot to deal with when they come into a new class.

Re: Based on all the things you cook, bake and make from scratch,

Pat, thanks for the kind words.  There are never any leftovers in the house because the kids take them home.  I've always cooked because it's cheaper than eating out.  When the kids were little we had a limited budget and cooking was necessary.  I learned how to make a lot of food for very little money.  I still have that skill and I always tell the kids if the world gets crazy I think we will be okay because as long as I have a few things I can make a nice meal for everyone.

The chill in the air is here too. Roast is a great choice for today. The aroma of savory beef and onions flowing through the house will be wonderful. I am undecided about our dinner, but I'm leaning towards a pot of fully loaded potato soup with a side of oyster crackers.

Good morning

I love your animal detective story series. Molly is a smart dog. She will find the bank robber. As for the hurricane, I believe that it's due to hit hard on the western side of Florida sometime this afternoon. My son-in-law's parents were vacationing down there up until yesterday when he got mad at them for refusing to leave. He begged them to come back home to which they finally listened. We got caught up in a Florida hurricane in October of 2007. They hit fast and hard.

Substitute teaching is tough. So many kid when they see a sub turn into vultures.

Based on all the things you cook, bake and make from scratch,

you're about ready to start your own show on the cooking channel. I'll bet the leftovers in your house are some slim pickings - it probably all gets devoured at the first reveal.  I could gain weight just reading you.
