It would be tempting if such houses could be found away from the tropical-summers zone... though those boundaries are shifting a lot these days.  It is indeed a wonderful old house!

What would a house like that cost? And what would it sell for all fixed? Seems like a cryin' shame to let it go.

Re: FSI, investors do gobble them up and then put Band-Aid on them.

The new homeowners are then left with hidden problems. That is why inspections are a really big deal when purchasing a home. The other problem is that these homes get broken into and trashed. They lose all value once the plumbing is stripped and the walls become moldy due to the elements resulting from broken windows and doors that get kicked in.

Good Afternoon

Sherri, when I see houses like this I always wonder who lived there.  It's a shame that they are now empty and will be torn down before too long.  I think restoring the homes is very expensive.  There are always new codes and they need to be upgraded and that is probably part of the problem.

That is a shame how those houses end up being razed. With the way the housing market is, I figure they would be gobbled up.
