Kabu, it's very hot here too and we are going to have high temperatures for the rest of the week. I hope you get all the renovations done that you want to. I know it will make you very happy. I'm hoping prices start coming down before too long. We got our roof done when we did because the prices were supposed to go up on April 1. It was still a lot of money but I'm glad it's done. Enjoy your day! My gnomes are not enjoying this heat. They are staying in the shade today.

That is not a bad-looking retro basement. At least it's a dry one. You could probably even rent that space out if you wanted to.

I imagine many home improvement projects are being held up due to the costs. I sure hope this inflation gets under control.

I watch a lot of those rehab/renovation shows on HGTV and they
mostly focus on knocking down walls to give a big open concept, and re-doing the kitchen with islands in the middle and lots of prep space. They make it look easy, but I know there's a lot of measuring, ordering and waiting, not to mention the dust, the noise and inconvenience that lasts at least a week or two in real life. When I moved into this house in 2004 my boys installed a washer & dryer in what had been the
pantry in a corner of the kitchen. I am thankful every time I wash a load that I don't have to run up and down the basement stairs to get it done.
