The beetles are a tell-all. We planted sunflowers this year and we are dealing with insects, fur babies, and anything else that jumps our fence. In nature, I figure that this is all a part of the deal. Come what may.

It's fascinating how much animals can show us about what the weather will be. They're more reliable than the weatherman.

Good Afternoon
Kabu, Omaha sounds wonderful. Corn and sunflowers are two of my favorites and I know the flowers will be beautiful this summer. Sometimes I guess it's best not to question what others know to be the truth. It's amazing your parents had a way to predict the rain. I hope you have a wonderful day.

People on the land - as I remember those days - were so much more
tuned in to the little clues of nature. Something called a buttermilk sky Mama always said was a sign of rain within 24 hours. It seems you're enjoying Omaha and the Nebraska weather patterns. This is heartwarming for me.
