Wow. I've never been in a situation where someone asked me to show them my money before making a purchase.

Had to laugh at your ending for this blog post.  None of us are perfect...not one.

Good afternoon

It sounds as though the shop owners had been burned by a few shoppers, so they were given no choice but to treat everyone the same even if it meant being a bit offensive. As for living by the beach in a van, what fun that would have been for your kids.

Good Afternoon

Kabu, I think every experience we have leads us to where we are supposed to be.  For the people that look down on others, all I can say is they should be careful because they don't have a clue where life will take them and what lessons they will have to learn.  I can see you on the bus taking your writing class and being excited to follow each assignment.  I was thinking when I first started writing on Blogit I thought it was awesome that you lived in Canada but maybe you were supposed to be in Nebraska.  It's funny how our lives take sharp turns to get us to where we are meant to be.

In a weird way, those shop owners that demanded you show your

money first were doing you a favor. They taught you how NOT to be.  I think we've all come across some intitled or "superior" SOB who thought they had the right to tell hippies or newcomers to their little corner of the world how to be.
