Yes, not demeaning. Wordsworth's experiences are personal and by nature, he wouldn't cater to others' as was rather the reticent types.

I suppose he was leaning towards writing for the upper classes. I doubt if the

majority could understand or even read very easily. I expect there was a kind of

pseudo-intelligent conversation held by the upper classes on the Poets and Authors 

of that time. Not that one should demean such worthy projects.
