I do hope the situation is resolved with the rent increase. That's terrible. As for Charlie and his dedication to his art, it is admirable that he has such passion for his calling. However, perhaps he could reconsider how he manages his time in order to allow for a bit more earning power while he pursues his art career.

One reason I decided to put money down and buy a house was to
stabilize the monthly payments. As inflation generally brings rent and other costs up each year, a mortgage payment stays the same, all things being equal. I can't help but sympathize with Charlie and the desire to do his creative things rather than get a job because it pays, but it's very rare for anyone to have that choice. I hope his dreams continue to unfold and bring him and you and others a lot of joy, even if it becomes necessary for him to give in and take a day job.

Good afternoon
That is a serious increase in rent. We deal with this too, but ours is usually a jump in rent at about $25.00 per year. We have attempted to buy our house for the past five years but the landlord isn't having it. A riverfront property is a big deal in our area. We just signed a new lease, but we are already searching for the perfect house come next year's lease agreement. We are simply getting too old to move.
