When it comes to sporting equipment, baseball is a tough one to fund even during a pandemic. You need a hat, glove and bats. Catchers need more equipment. It's a lot easier than basketball with just a ball. Football can be played at least two-hand touch.

I hope the flooded oark csn be salvaged. There should be County or State or Federal funds if the town is too small or impoverished to rebuild. As for baseball mitts, who was providing them before? There was a case here where a person pilfered funds from the Little League. Hope it's nothing like that.

It does seem that the weather is very changeable. we used to get a lot of fogs but they seem to have diminished lately. Perhaps it is the non-burning of coal. Sounds grim for the kids, mud will be a job to get rid off.

I think the reason some kids don't have the sports equipment they need
is because their parents need the money for groceries, rent and warm jackets for the kids. A ball glove may not seem like a luxury to most people, but for those living on the edge, the price of it could buy a day's worth of groceries.
