I believe you; there are many variations in life. Sadly not many would even want to access the feelings of others unless the feelings were joyful. no shortage of that.
You have a gift and have used it positively.
When I was younger, I could see Auras at times, but all these different emotions are kind of unexplainable.

Some people will understand and believe this, and some won't, but I think that I am an empath. The internet is full of groups of mainly young women who say that they are 'empaths.' I've joined a few for a month or so just to see how they define the word. Needless to say, most of them have no clue of the original (and, in my opinion, the true) definition of the word.
This is my opinion, so your mileage may vary. A true empath is someone who senses the fears and pain of others. Once they have done that, many empaths can *absorb* the pain and anxiety with a 'laying on of hands.' This s not to say that they are 'God-like,' but rather, 'God-gifted.' Some will think that I'm just as crazy as they thought I was, but I have had so many people tell me that by holding my hand, their pain left them in a matter of a minute or two.
Now there is where the trick begins. The word's original definition said that an empath didn't remove the pain; they absorbed it into their body. Since I was young, I realized that I could calm or cause others to feel better, but that came at a price to me. I learned to 'shake off' said pain and fear, and as I grew, my ability to absorb and shake off the 'problems of others' grew with me.
I wrote a story about the ability I am talking about, titled 'The Interdimensional Man.' It was based on many situations that I have encountered in my career. That story is next in my rotation of stories to run through new editing, so it may end up being posted here again.
I'm fully aware that some people will believe and some won't. I take no stance either way. I know what happens to me, and I believe what I am saying. You are free to think of me as a nutjob! LOL
