We almost had a house fire here the other night because the fireplace broke! Glad yours is fine. And hope your dinner is great. Sounds so good.

Pat, I wish we had a gas-burning fireplace. I think they really are low maintenance. I hope next time that's what we get. The fireplace is back up and running and we are toasty warm. I hope you stay warm during this cold spell.

Winter is upon us, with chills under the shirt collars and snow
piling up where no snow has gone before (since the start of this winter). If I ever get a place with a fireplace, it will be a gas-burning one that needs little or no maintanance. Ash has to be cleaned out, and though it's possibly good for a garden, in a city it needs to be put in the waste can, and be absolutely cold before handling. I hope your house stays cozy while winter takes over the outdoors.
