Brings to mind when I was working in the street. So many of those lost kids needed and appreciated my hugs. Because of most of them being homeless, squatters, etc., I had a permanent supply of head lice shampoo at home, not so appreciated by my son and the lads who shared my appartment.

I love big beautiful hugs always have and they are rare now.I used to tell my nursing students to not be afraid to touch and yes hug the elderly for people love to cuddle a baby but the older people not so much. Now I have reached that group.

I know chimps have a considerable vocabular of gestures, sounds, and physical contacts to make sure they are understood to be friend, or to acknowledge respect of authority. Jane Goodall was saddened to observe, some years into her project, that between different groups, being eaten was a possibility.

Perhaps when we were developing hugging was a way to tell Me, friend. Of course, one could have been eaten.

Good morning
Beautiful! Hugs are the best. My first "real hug" came from my mother-in-law. I have always heard that during a hug you should never be the first one to let go and that a hug should last for at least ten seconds.
