When we were kids, that kind of craziness didn't happen, but I can remember hearing warnings about needles in apples when my own children were old enough to go out on Halloween. I don't understand the need to hurt children either.

Re:
Annicita, I will never understand why anyone would want to harm a child. It makes no sense to me.

Re: Good afternoon
Sassy, every time you and your family get together you have so much fun. I really love seeing the pictures. Enjoy your birthday celebration. I still remember how awesome the wedding was when Jennifer got married.

Unfortunately that has been going on for decades. I think the first episode that I know of was in the late sixties. Not too long after that, somebody messed with the girl scout cookies at the factory and that caused the price of them to more than double.

Good afternoon
I love those nights that I don't have to cook. Roy is a true gem. We cheated and had pizza last night because it is one of my favorites. It was the start of our three-day birthday celebration and since John doesn't like seafood, I decided against the creamy crab soup. Our middle daughter is having a huge Halloween party on the 31st. It never fails to be a total blast. Lots of food, drink, and silliness. We are having corn dogs with honey mustard and buttery potato stuffed pierogies tonight. It is such a sunny and beautiful day today that I am planning on a shopping trip later this afternoon. You can never have enough pizza and I am grabbing the ingredients for my Maryland crab soup and the stuff needed for the party food for Sunday night.

Re:
FSI, I'm hoping for the best. Times are so different now and the students have to put up with so much.

Re: The fear of sabotaged treats is nothing new. My kids were still going
Pat, I feel so bad for what the kids have to deal with now. I think everyone has to be on alert no matter what the situation is.

Here's to hoping that the education experience improves.

The fear of sabotaged treats is nothing new. My kids were still going
trick or treating when stories came out about people putting razor blades in apples so that when a kid bit down they'd cut their mouth. That was a good 40 years ago. It's a cryin' shame, too - I remember how happy it made me to come home from trick or treating to "count my loot." The candy often lasted well past Thanksgiving because folks were so generous. All the horror movies and gruesome stuff that people celebrate just don't appeal to me. Stay safe.
