It is remarkable in a way. My S.I.L still makes her own clothes. This must be a way that taught girls this talent.

I never owned any, but remember one Sunday afternoon playing with a set that belonged to another girl who was visiting my foster home with her parents. A nice memory - thank you for that!

I enjoyed as well. About 15 years ago I met a woman who took them and made wood cut outs then glued them on it so they would last a long time.
