The leaves started falling early here. Work is scheduled on the fireplace and roof and one bathroom but it takes so long to get people out. Hoping for the best for you. A new couch sounds wonderful. It's time over here also.

Good luck with getting rid of the old couch and hoping you had a happy day like I did.

Re:

C_C_T, this is the first large item I've disposed of in years.  Now with COVID, it makes it a little harder but we will have it wrapped in plastic for tomorrow's pickup.

Re:

FSI, we are fortunate that we have free pick-up of large bulk items with our regular garbage.  The only thing we have to do is call ahead of time so they know what they are picking up.  I think Maryland really should do an organized pickup because having things strewn about is not a good idea.

Re:

adnohr, that is so nice!  Our couch is 18 years old and the kids have slept on them for most of the 18 years.  It's time for them to go.  I think for a minute I'll miss the couch because it's been here for so long.

Re: Good morning

Sassy, I hope we find a good roofing company sooner than later.  It's quite chilly here too!

One does not think of disposing of furniture, being so difficult, but it does make sense. I suppose once we would have just burned it/

Baltimore used to have bulk pickup. It was discontinued about a decade ago due to budget cuts. Now you see sofas and other heavy things strewn about the city. It's got to cost more to clean it up than it does to have an organized pickup.

In our little municipality (actually huge area but with small population) we have a deposit warehouse where gently used furniture and other household items are stored. Anyone who needs something can shoow up there and take what they need for free. It works out well.

Good morning

Locating a good roofer is a really big deal, especially when you consider the price that a homeowner pays for a new roof. As for the weather, it's downright chilly here today. Fall entered with some attitude.
