Recently one of the oldest colonial hotel in Darjeeling Windamere was in news...the management wanted to shut the place as they had run into huge financial losses due to the pandemic.Luckily with the intervention of the Labour Commission a solution was found for the time being..... this is a problem faced by the hospitality industry world over. Understanding & kindness can certainly help to tide over this situation.

It's gonna take time! How many of the businesses are buying materials that are Made In CHina??? They are doing it to themselves.

Sassy, this is really a very bad situation! I'm not sure what is going to happen. I hope it doesn't collapse the economy.

Re: Goldiec, it is everywhere.
And it is the reason that businesses are closing. They cannot afford to pay the workers those wages and people cannot afford to take their families out for a night when a meal deal is $13 per person. What's worse is that they are not raising the wages of experienced workers to match the increase that new workers are receiving, so now everyone is in poverty.

Good Afternoon
Sassy, Roy, and I went to the store this morning and we passed a McDonald's. There was a sign that said $16 per hour and you can pick your own hours. The problem with all of this is that restaurants will have to raise food prices to keep up with higher wages. I don't see this ending well. We went to Burger King a couple weeks ago and we went through the drive-through and one girl was working in the whole place. She had to do everything. I felt so sorry for her. We are all going to have to be kind and understanding during these very trying times.
There was a segment on the news about Cedar Point. They are paying their workers $20. The surrounding small restaurants can't keep workers because they are all quitting to go to the amusement park. The small restaurants cannot pay that kind of wage.

The world does need more kindness. I have a feeling sadly that we're going to see the keyboard warriors giving those businesses horrible reviews.
