Above all else never believe anything bad someone says about you. Remember whatever you did at the time there was a reason for it. You may not know what it was but there was a reason you chose the path that you did. I think what is going on here is that he's trying to bring you down by convincing you that you are bad. Words are so cruel. Are you sure it wasn't words that drove her into another's arms in the first place. Physical harms shows and earns pity and help but the mental taunting and belittling does terrible harm not easy to understand by others. You believe it all don't you. Every cruel thing he has said. Too many women suffer through this situation. I did it years ago. The only thing to do is stand strong and fight back. I ended up moving 3,000 miles away from the bastard to start fresh, and after the money loss, job loss, and personal struggle, I found that it was worth everything that I lost, fought for, and eventually gained back through perseverance.
