I gave this a lot of thought. It’s a complicated problem - homelessness. Squatters are a darker side to something already broken in our society. A multi-disciplinary approach needs to be in place. One could write a thesis on the topic. So much could be done to help.

I think in these days and times that we need to be more open to things that we normally would not consider. Too many have lots jobs and unemployment benefits are on hold since the first of the year.

I would say they should not conflate squatting with regular homelessness.

Those vacant properties could so easily house many homeless people who have nothing. We give trillions away to people for various reasons, so why not fix up properties and give people a home? Squatters are a different story. Just taking possession of a property is one thing, trying to stay warm for a night is another.

Good Morning

I think we should try to help everyone if we can.  It's so dangerous to be in a vacant building.  There's no heat, electricity, or water.  The reasons are so numerous including safety if the building has been condemned.  If someone tries to start a fire to keep warm that will end very badly.  The old buildings go up in flames in a matter of minutes.  I wish the cities would do more for the homeless.
