Sassy, this reminds me of a house we went by the other day.  The house was still decorated for Christmas and they also had football decorations around the front yard and there were a few more decorations.  I happened to think maybe it's just too cold to take everything down right now.

I never hope to see such a thing, esp. since my front door is 5 steps

above ground level and under a covered porch.  Mom told us about snows like that when she was a kid living on a homestead in North Dakota around 1910. Brrr.
