Re: Re: Goldiec,

My daughter might share the recipe. She has won some county fair prizes with her apple butters!

Re:

Ciel, caramel apple butter sounds so good too!  How do you make it?  Next time I will try that.  I think my homemade apple butter tastes better than what I get in the store. If you were here I would share it with you.  Thank you so much for the comment and I hope you have a good night.

Your apple butter sounds wonderful!  My daughter makes it--last year, caramel apple butter.

Re: Good evening from Denmark... ;-)

kasperhoe, thank you so much for the comment.  My apple butter tuned out really good.  It's in the fridge now.  I'm going to put it on my toast in the morning.

Re: My neighbor used to make apple butter every fall and preserve it in

Pat, by the time my apple butter was done cooking I had 2 containers of apple butter.  I'm going to share some with my neighbors. Thank you so much for the comment.

I bought in one at a time, both toilet paper and tissues over the Summer months. Now I believe I have enough to last one person, me, overa long time period.

Good evening from Denmark... ;-)

I think it sounds great. And I really try to imagine the smell of your apple butter.

Don't forget to tell me if it's good.

I agree with you about 2020. Maybe we should have skipped 2020. But unfortunately, that was not for us to decide. *sigh*

Stay safe. And have a wonderful day.

My neighbor used to make apple butter every fall and preserve it in

Mason jars, using melted wax to seal the top before putting on the lids. There may be more to the process, but she was able to serve apple butter on hot biscuits all winter.

Re: Those deer will be happy.

Sassy, soon all your animals are going to want to move inside with you!  Are you buying extra hotdogs for the raccoons and the possums?  I think our deer would be happy if I gave them apples every day.  I'm always feeding them bread.  We always buy seeds for the birds.

Re: Oh lord! 5 lbs. of apples are a lot to peel and dice.

Sassy, since this is the first time I've ever made apple butter I'm a little nervous but I hope it turns out good.  I followed the directions exactly and I'm hoping for the best.  It smells really good. Thanks for your comment.

Those deer will be happy.

We have been feeding them bread, the squirrels peanuts, the birds seeds, and sunflowers, and we have started feeding hotdogs to the raccoons and possums. We had quite a gathering in the yard last night.

Oh lord! 5 lbs. of apples are a lot to peel and dice.

I suspect that all of that labor will be worth it in the end.
