Mice are kinda cute, although I don't wish to share my space with them either. I did have a giggle reading your post.

Re: Re: Re: I am so sorry about this unfortunate event.

Thank you for your comment and concern. Yes, it was the most disgustingly gross event. I actually was sick yesterday from it.

It is sickening. Delicates are not cheap to replace.

Re: Annicita

Thanks but that is something I just can't do. Once a rat has deficated into intimate wear, that's the line I draw for never wearing the clothing ever again.

Re: sassy

It's pretty far over on my "Gross" meter. Sickening, actually.

Re: A mouse is unlikely to get into a closed washing machine. He most

Pat, yes, hanta virus is scary stuff. I have a top-loading washer with no agitator. I keep the lid open so it doesn't develop a mildew odor, as some of those types have a tendency to do. I have run the Clean Washer twice with bleach and will run an empty  Sanitizer cycle, though that's for clothing. Then I will repeat and repeat.

I would run them through the wash a few times and wear.

Re: FSI

Story of my life sometimes. This too shall pass. Just quckly, I hope.

A new washer? That image would stick with me for awhile. Ugh!

Goo Gone or Mean Green cleaner.  Mr. Clean eraser is good too. I am shuddering just thinking about it.

Oh, man. Talk about a living horror movie. I'd be scared to death by all that.

A mouse is unlikely to get into a closed washing machine. He most

likely was planning to make a nest in your hamper. Might be a good idea to run a cleansing cycle of just water, soap & bleach. Not afraid of the mouse itself, but they carry hanta virus and others.

Re: Aba Brother - To my great relief he wasn't dead!

His fur was so shiny that I was certain that was all that was left of him from the previous load that had been washed - a fur carcass like that of a skinned rabbit. But oh, no one wants a mouse in their clothing. Yes, it was great that the socks "accidently" were in there, else he would have been a goner!

I am not afraid of mice. I remember conducting a science experiment in HS with white rats. I took care of them but they lived at the school. I then won a prize, and moved up to the 3-county competition and won a first place prize there, but not the Grand Prize. lol. Now that's something that really is laughable. Will visit your post soon.

I'm almost laughing. What great discoveries from socks you wouldn't wish washed, eventually led you to. And that poor mouse kid would otherwise have lost its life! lol!!

Re: TAPS - Thank you.

The gardeners of the common area around here have been cutting and trimming, and I think nests were disturbed also. The rain and the cold are certainly a reason for them to seek a way to get inside. At least you know yours is in there and won't be shocked if you see him again. Perhaps the landlord would help evict the little mousey. My initial thought was that he was dead, and had spun around in the previous load. My second thought was that he had nested inside my clothes hamper in the house and I had carried him around with the laundry load. My third thought - was, okay, enough! I'm not afraid of mice, per se; just don't want them in my 'delicates' or my washing machine.

Bc-A

It's that time of year, perhaps. We just had the exterminator out for the ant saga which has been ongoing since the pipe burst near the water heater causing a leak in the garage and yard. I hope you leave the area while they spray! Be careful!

I think it is the really cold weather driving things inside, but three nights ago I saw a little mousey in my housey.  He looked frightened when he saw me.  I haven't seen him again but I bet he is here somewhere.

What's with the crickets and plagues? Tomorrow the weekly housekeeper will go  around the house, spraying with rat poison. I cleaned the apartment for it love.
