Not when we have UPS and now Amazon drones to deliver goods. The Post office was doomed when the unionized their employees.....their output went to hell in a hurry.

I feel sorry for the post office, I did read that mostly they deal in parcels...from on line shopping, and the work gets very heavy.

You nailed it.
My sister works for the post office in Delaware. For awhile she was doubting the need for the postal service in future years. Now she will have her hands full with the coming election. I know as a kid I used to write letters and pride myself on my penmanship. So many things are unneeded anymore, many of them you have already mentioned. I cannot imagine this world in 2040. It really sucks getting old.
