I know what he means. I sent out a request for illustrators and the pay amount. No one paid attention to what I wrote that I wanted or what the pay would be.

The one huge lesson I learned whith my writing is to take all the advice avaliable. Don't ever be precious about your work. Listen to advice, if it is really wrong for you then don't use it, but in the end you are the one who gets all the accolades for having written something good.

Lisa, it really sounds like you are off to a good start. The hardest part is knowing what you want to write about and once you know it's going to be smooth sailing!
