Re:

C_C_T, thanks for commenting.  I was wondering when you say green waste do you mean leaves, sticks, and things like that? We put all of our cans out every week.  We have a large green can that is for recycling.  It is huge.  Then there is the dark green can and it is for actual rubbish.  It is huge too.

Re:

FSI, I hope if we all recycle maybe it will make a difference.  We have garbage dumps around the area.  There are three that I can think of that we could drive to.  I wish you could see them.  They are large mounds of dirt that look like mountains.  I just don't know what to think about them.

Re: I am all for recycling and keeping the planet free from debris.

Sassy, thank you for the comment.  We save our pop cans and take them in when the bags get full.  We really don't get much for them but at least we can say we are trying to save the earth.  I hope you win money at the casino!  I'm wondering with the COVID does the casino still bring drinks around for playing customers?

Re: About the recycling: I grew up in the Pacific NW, and recycling is

Pat_B, I love your comments!  They could never be too long.  I found your comment very interesting.  We always put onion peels around the garden.  Roy says animals do not like them.  I'm not sure but I always save the onion peels for him to put around the garden.  Actually, there's a dish of peels waiting on the table when he gets home. He will take them to the garden.

Yes we try to recycle most things we have 3 bins and I have an extra 3 for green waste  and a small one which is rarely used for food waste, some folk seem to put this one out every week. I just wait until there is an oddment of stuff. Perhaps things that have fallen on the floor or something that looks odd.

I am a recycler, too. It makes me feel like I'm making a major difference as well.

I am all for recycling and keeping the planet free from debris.

We bag up our cans and take them in about every six months. It doesn't pay much,. but I can't imagine throwing them away. It is supposed to be cloudy here today too, but hot. We will be inside a casino this afternoon, so we won't notice anyway.

About the recycling: I grew up in the Pacific NW, and recycling is

a big deal out there - people want to keep their beautiful area beautiful, and then there's the old adage: "waste not, want not." My sibs and I wore hand-me-downs and thrift shop items, we composted potato peels, etc., and this became natural fertilizer for our garden. This was the time before frozen foods, TV dinners, plastic bags, even plastic toys. We used soap - not detergent - for laundry... oh, sorry. this is getting too long. Have a great day.
