Yes, my fourth grade teacher boasted about my acing the spelling bee.
He was my favorite teacher. Mr. Boehm was a first-year teacher that year, and he was awesome sauce! He used to walk us down to Dairy Queen to treat us for academic excellence when we achieved it.
