I would imagine one has to be doubly careful these days. I suppose one could stick to fairies.

Pat - Great story!
I’d be excommunicated from the family if I wrote a book using any real names - even my own... An obscure person did write a book using real names from way back when and a relative told me about it. I got my paws on a copy and sure enough - mention was made of an ancestor - but it was okay cause it was a nickname. Good lesson to learn though.

Lol...I guess so. A name is not something to toy with when used negatively.
He was an inspiration to many in the film industry. I watched a Food Network show featuring Ina Garten, who paid homage to Truman Capote with a themed episode honoring the author of a new book about the idiosyncratic writer. Ina's Black and White Party was based on a similar Ball given by Capote in his heyday.

Hahaha! My brother warned me that if I was to write his story I would need to change names and locations, or it could prove dangerous. Not a word about protecting the innocent!

HaHaHa. I would think so. Can you imagine finding a published book about yourself and your description being very unflattering?
