Re: FS

Yes a bit tough for a lone goose, if foxes are around.I expect yours was a wild one.

Re: Kabu

I expect folk would not like to see a duck in a child's bath these days. How things have changed. You were no worse for it, but dirt was cleaner in those days.

Re:.Pat

Pat A good job domestic ones do not take off. Although they can kind of drift down from high ground. No I expect the wild ones are rather tough. Not for the table.

Re:sassyass 64

It actually died of old age. I doubt it would have survived at its former home..

Awww, I loved this.  My grandmother always had white geese following her around.  I loved it when I was there.  Sooner or later each one turned into featherbeds or pillows, goose grease mixed with liniment for chest rub, and roast goose with sauerkraut and knedliky (dumplings).

I once had a baby duckling to bring up and he used to love to swim around in my bath with me. No rubber ducky for me. I need my hand held.

I think geese are pretty creatures, if a bit messy.

We have Canada Geese that winter over in this neck of the woods, brown feathers, and they kind of take over from the Mallards and other ducks at the lakes. But I don't think anybody hunts or eats them.

We have a goose that lingers behind Location B. What a cute goose. I have not seen the goose, and I do wonder if a fox got to it.
