Re:

And we hear nary a word about the sons of bitches that created the virus in their labs in China.  They thought they could fool us all....NOT!  World Health Organization my ass.   The head of the WHO is in the pocket of the Chinese.  And we decided to go with price, instead of quality by giving all of the Drugs we use being created to the care of the  "COMMUNIST" Chinese...How stupid was Obummer and brainless Biden!

I'm not sure anybody knows whether this works or not, but

what could it hurt? The whole thing, from where it came from to what they can do about it is one big question mark. I suppose we could all become germophobic and slather ourselves in soap suds 24-7 or we could pretend to be reasonable creatures, take some precautions and not make ourselves crazy with scary possibilities. Be well.

Sadly no one really knows much about this virus. I think the best thing is too not get close to anyone. I wonder if after masks are worn if they should then be discarded .

So many things we don't know.

Listen to Kabu...your very own retired nurse. The virus has a long life, it can take its time to show it's symptoms. The fact is that the places that have been isolating and distancing wearing masks in public along with gloves, are the sensible way to try to stay well. It has horrified me how slow so many places have taken so long to get on board. go out as little as possible and keep away from groups of people. what ever you buy wash the packets when you get home. Take all precautions that you can.

Re: Re: Re: Wearing a mask in public spaces is better than wearing nothing at all

The truth is that if you can see the sun when looking through your mask when pointed heavenward, then it is only good for three hours. A good mask is one that can be sterilized or washed...the homemade version. The N95 is a good choice. We have found them at our local military surplus stores.

You are correct. They did, which made for a confusing mess. They were less than genuine, for sure. I have questioned my brother on this multiple times. He work's for Dr. Jerome Adams, the Surgeon General. He explained to me that there were too many sources reporting on the matter of the masks due to major shortages nationally. They feared that the healthcare facilities would not have enough masks, so the media created, "hype."

Re: Wearing a mask in public spaces is better than wearing nothing at all

But here's the problem. For weeks, the CDC discouraged the general public from wearing any sort of masks. Finally, this week the homemade mask solution came into being.

If the CDC had said weeks ago to the general public, "Please, don't purchase and wear N95 maks for yourselves. You can make your own," I would have been fine with that. It would have shown foresight."

Hmmm...It would be pretty embarrassing if you wore nothing at all

Wearing a mask in public spaces is better than wearing nothing at all

The CDC advised against "non-healthcare workers" from wearing the "N95" masks because those should be used first by healthcare workers. That is why they came up with the idea of homemade masks since there was a shortage of other masks when pandemonia took over.

The bad part is if someone who is infected is wearing a mask...every time someone exhales it deposits more of the virus on the mask.  making it a distribution point toward the rest of us!
