Wow! I had the exact same issue with my dad's side of the family up until my brother gave me the gift of the ancestry.com DNA kit two years ago. I now have hundreds of connections. Don't forget the other place that allows for a pretty extensive family search..."YOU DO NOT" have to be Mormon to search.....https://www.archives.com/genealogy/family-heritage-lds-mormon.html and https://www.familysearch.org/en/

well done so far. My sister spent some years on the family tree and we did find branches that we didn't know about. Welcome to blogit. and i will be interested to see how much you can discover.

Good for you...You have a noble goal...hang tough and stick with it.  My brother is addicted to ancestry.com.  And he loves getting communications from long lost relatives.
