Re: Re: C_D

Years ago my husband was on a search team for a pastor.  It seemed to last forever and he was really never satisfied with the final choice.

Re:

Taps.....I made an error on my comment...we have over 3000 in our membership, yet it has a small church atmosphere.  They spent a lot of money bringing in or going to meet with candidates. I have to say the search team really had a huge burden.

We are affiliated with Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, they have over 13,000 members.  When you walk in it's like walking through an airline terminal. They even have a Starbucks-like coffee shop.  Joe Love and I went there a few times, but it just didn't feel like a church, it was more of an organization.

Joe died before we joined and I started to go with his Mom to the current church.  Been there now for 7 years.

Re: Corbin_Dallas

Were you on the Search Team?  That can be a difficult and time-consuming job and often not appreciated.

Our church has been searching for a new Pastor of almost 2 years.  It's a big church, over 300 members...the search team traveled all over the midwest looking for the right person.  Finally, we found our man. In his early 30's, 3 kids.  We submitted yes or no ballots last Sunday and the result was unanimous!

Stability has returned.
