It is not easy. Sometimes the most difficult part is making the decision. It’s a process. I thought we did that two moves ago. Then I though for sure I did it this last move. Now I see there are still things my kids would toss. It’s nice though and one can still be comfortable. Take care, dear lady.

Downsizing can be a long process, distributing this and that to family and friends, letting them dust and maintain, and creating lovely open space at home... I have another Canadian friend--He and his wife just sold their house and are having to do it all at once. That notion gives me the cold horrors!

I've been seriously thinking about making an appointment with 1-800-GOT-JUNK and seriously cleaning out and downsizing and living my remaining years(?) sparsely.

Being in a smaller place will have its advantages, but habits are
hard to break, sorting and pitching things we'll no longer have room for can be a wrench... In short, I hate the thought of it. Then again... (all the things you said)... Maybe the commute will be more convenient, your long days a bit shorter.
