I've been kept company most of the day by a friendly Robin. I know he's just after the worms when I'm weeding and clearing, but it's nice to have him sit so near.

Betcha it was the lady of the house telling him to quit mouthing off at the hand that feeds them and their young!

Surprising how some birds become quite used to one person. Robins will but you have a winner with that little chap. I hope you get a second flush of flowers its a bonus.

That's a funny story about Mr. Wren. I wonder what caused him to have that sort of reaction toward you.

I believe critters can sense when a human is harmless to them,
after a certain period of cautious observation. But there are so few two-leggeds who are benign or helpful, they are probably wise to give us all a wide berth. There have been times I wished to be a bird, they seem so free, and then I think about their constant quest for food - and their diet - and am content just to watch.

Re: Re:
None of Dad's wren friends ever became friends with Mom even though she was very good with bird calls..

Re:
that is amazing because this little guy really bosses me around just like Mr Graysome does and he is very protective of his family.Yet he calls to me in the morning as if to say get up now and is always hopping around close to where I am.

That makes me remember Daddy. He always made his own wren houses and they always became occupied. Dad talked to them in their language and some of them were good buddies with him.
