I've seen documentaries of the ancient cities, and usually come away
amazed by the art and discipline involved. Learning Mandarin must be a totally confusing experience, since it's so different from English/Germanic patterns.

Anything that keeps the brain active must be good therapy. We have just had two cool days and it seems great.

Good for you. Apart from Hong Kong visited several times as stop over for long haul flights and so spending a couple of days, Oh and a wonderful week in Tiawan I really don't know much of China at all.
